Mpower Solar is the largest solar installer based in NYC, known for leading the industry in sales, design, installation, and maintenance. We help homeowners lower their carbon footprint while maximizing energy savings through high-quality, dependable solar solutions. We’re hiring a Solar Installation Foreman to lead our install crews in the field. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strong electrical skills with team management.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering safe, efficient, and top-tier installations.
Responsibilities:
• Perform all electrical scopes of work, including BOS wiring, inverter/disconnect
installation, grounding, and system commissioning
• Complete basic electrical repairs as needed, such as water main grounding and
feeder replacements
• Oversee the full installation crew on-site, including supervising the roof lead and
roofing team responsible for panel installation
• Coordinate and manage installations across various roof types, including flush,
tilt, and canopy systems on both flat and pitched roofs
• Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, DOB, and company safety
standards
• Provide training to crew members on installation techniques using industry best
practices
• Communicate effectively with customers and manage expectations
professionally on-site
• Work closely with project managers, account managers, and internal
stakeholders to ensure smooth execution
• Review the Bill of Materials and confirm all required electrical and roofing
materials are on-site before each job
• Be resourceful and solution-oriented in resolving on-site challenges and keeping
projects on trackQualifications:
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in solar installation, with at least 2 years in a foreman or
crew leadership role
• Strong understanding of solar electrical systems, including BOS wiring, inverter
setup, commissioning, water main grounding, and feeder replacements
• Proven ability to lead, supervise, and train crews, including roofing and electrical
teams, ensuring quality, efficiency, and jobsite safety
• Deep knowledge of NEC code, safety regulations, and solar installation best
practices
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the
ability to coordinate work across multiple teams
• Comfortable working on pitched and flat roofs, including flush, tilt, and canopy
systems
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites throughout the NYC
metro area
• Valid OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 preferred)
Compensation:
• $32/hour or $14.00 per installed panel, whichever is the higher
amount per day
